Our Liveaboard Facility
Reef Encounter provides an excellent base to complete your
scuba diving course. Reef Encounter is a 35-metre catamaran that spends its life on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
Onboard Reef Encounter we have 21 Staterooms that have private bathrooms and outstanding chefs that prepare delicious meals for our hungry guests.
We offer several different packages onboard snorkelling, scuba diving, introductory diving and of course our learn to dive course, which is ideal when you are travelling with your loved ones there are options to suit everyone.

It is serviced daily by her sister vessel Reef Experience, which allows our guests the opportunity to start a scuba diving course on the day that suits them best and stay for as long as they like.
We also have our onboard helicopter pad for quests who want to add a spectacular scenic helicopter transfer to their booking.

Learning to scuba dive is quite easy, and most people find it much more comfortable than snorkelling.
Once you book your scuba diving course you will receive information and log in to our digital training system so that you can start your scuba diving course online; next, you will make your way to Cairns and start a three or 4-day liveaboard tour and start your scuba diving course.
Scuba diving and having up-close encounters with magnificent marine life creates memories that no one can ever take away from you it is an experience that will truly enhance your life.

Scuba Diving Course Requirements
This course is ideal for people who are aquatic, who are comfortable in the water and are good swimmers.
You will need to complete our can I go scuba diving questionnaire to see if you are medically fit scuba dive.
